今天考古的發現吳國在無錫蘇州一帶。
The beautiful spring time in Wuxi and Suzhou(無錫,蘇州), where the ancient Kingdom of Wu was located.
吳國，也叫勾吳、工吳、攻吾等是前12世紀—前473年位於長江下游的一個古國。smile.gif

Kingdom of Wu – 12th century BC to 473 BC
The Wu Nation (吳國:Wú Guó), also known as Gou Wu (勾吳) or Gong Wu (工吳 or 攻吾), was one of the nations during the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Spring and Autumn Period. It was located near the mouth of Yangtze River. Considered a semi-barbarian place by ancient Chinese historians, its capital was at Gusu (姑蘇), in modern day Suzhou.
According to history, Taibo (泰伯) was the founder of Wu, the oldest son of the king of Zhou nation. Realising that his third younger brother, Jili, was more prefered by his father to inherit the throne, Taibo fled to Wu with his second younger brother Zhongyong(仲雍) and settled there. Three generations later, Zhou defeated the last Yin emperor and began Zhou Dynasty, and enfeoffed the descendents of Zhongyong in Wu. Taibo had no son.
Wu Nation was later conquered by an upstart nation to its south, the Nation of Yue, in 473 BC. After the demise of Wu, people fled and some of them used the kongdom's name as surname.
